28 detained in blast probe

LAHORE, Nov 18: The capital city police have reportedly detained 28 `suspects’ for questioning following Friday’s bomb blast which left 20 people injured. During a `major crackdown’ on Saturday, police raided various hotels, guest houses and Afghan localities in the city.

It picked up seven people from guest houses, 14 from an Afghan locality on Bund Road, four from different hotels while three from a Pathan locality of Naseerabad.

Meanwhile, five of the injured were discharged from the Jinnah Hospital on Saturday.

Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Pervaiz told APP that six injured had been brought to the facility. He said the one injured person who was still in the hospital was under constant care.
