Published November 19, 2006

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18: Awami National Party president Senator Asfandyar Wali on Saturday filed a privilege motion against the political administration for barring him from entering the Bajaur agency.

He has stated that on Nov 15 he was going to lead a rally against the Bajaur operation and express solidarity with the people of Bajaur when the political administration stopped him and his companions from entering the agency and resorted tear gas shelling.

He said that he was an elected leader and is free to go anywhere in the country but by barring him from entering into the Bajaur agency his privilege had been breeched therefore his motion should be accepted and sent to the standing committee.—Online
