PESHAWAR, Feb 15: A two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court on Thursday sought comments from the federal government on a writ petition filed by an alleged drug trafficker, Haji Ayub Afridi, who has challenged refusal of passport to him by the government.
The bench comprising Justice Ijazul Hassan and Justice Ijaz Afzal fixed Feb 20 for next hearing. Appearing for the petitioner, advocate Muhammad Jamil Khan argued that the petitioner intended to go to Saudi Arabia for performing Haj. He added that he had applied for the passport, but the government had not been providing the same to him.
