Skardu to get potable water by June

SKARDU, Feb 15: Work on the Greater Water Supply Scheme in Skardu, which was launched in 1992, will be completed by June this year.

Talking to Dawn Engineer Nazir Ahmad said here on Thursday, the project would benefit 250,000 people till year 2038.

At present, the population of Skardu city is 44,000, which was facing scarcity of potable water. But after the completion of the plan, there would be a sufficient supply of water, he said.
