LAHORE, Nov 2: Robbers made off with cash and other valuables in several successful hits in the city on Thursday. Two gunmen barged into Royal City Service on Model Town Link Road and took away Rs200,000 in cash and two cell phones.
Thieves broke into Sajid’s shop in Mozang area and made off with cash and valuables worth Rs150,000.
A gang stormed into a house in Ahmed Block in Garden Town and escaped with valuables worth Rs150,000.
Two gun-totting men snatched Rs100,000 in cash from a citizen at Allahho Chowk, Johar Town, when he was on his way after withdrawing cash from a bank.
Two armed people, riding on a bike, intercepted Nasrullah in Liaqatabad and deprived him of Rs100,000 in cash while a citizen was robbed of Rs30,000 and a cell phone in Ichhra by the two robbers.
A rickshaw driver escaped with valuables worth Rs50,000 when a passenger alighted from the three-wheeler.
Two motorcyclists burst into a bakery in Hanjarwal and took away Rs60,000 in cash and a cell phone while as many outlaws stormed into Akmal’s general store and escaped with calling cards worth Rs50,000, Rs12,000 in cash and a cell phone in the same area.
Unidentified thieves stole medicines worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from the office of a pharmaceutical company in Sattokatla area.
MURDERS: A middle-aged man was shot dead allegedly by his cousins over a property dispute in Defence area here on Thursday.
Police said Ashiq, 50, a gardener of Defence Housing Authority, was on way on a bicycle when his cousins Billu, Baggu and Akram shot at him.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, a man died when a doctor allegedly gave him a wrong injection in Manga Mandi on Thursday.
Police said Niaz Gull Khan, 45, was ill and had gone to Dr Sarfraz for treatment.
The police have registered a case against the doctor on the complaint of Niaz’s family.
