Land settlement in NAs soon

GILGIT, Nov 2: Northern Areas chief secretary Imtiaz Kazi at a meeting held here on Thursday directed the settlement department to undertake land settlement in all districts of the region.

Sources said the regional settlement department would be upgraded and the work would start in two months.

They said public representatives and advisers of Northern Areas would be consulted before starting the process.

They said the administration had decided to hold regular meetings with officials concerned.

They said the land settlement would help in awarding compensation to people affected by the Diamer-Bhasha dam.
