ISLAMABAD, Oct 30: Islamabad chalked up a superb five-wicket victory over Rawalpindi to clinch the National Inter-region Under-19 one-day cricket title on Monday.

Left-arm spinner Kashif Ali captured five wickets and prolific batsman Faizan Riaz hit unbeaten 83 to play key roles for Islamabad in the final at the Diamond Club Ground.

Winning the toss and electing to field first, Islamabad shot out neighbours Rawalpindi for 188 in 47.4 overs with Kashif Ali returning fine figures of five for 29.

In reply, Islamabad got to their target in 45.1 overs with Faizan Riaz leading the way. His 111-ball knock contained six boundaries.

Islamabad, who were 39 for four in the 12th over, were lifted by a 130-run stand between Faizan and Zeeshan Mushtaq, who made 42 before he was run out.
