KARACHI, Oct 30: Eight ships carrying rock phosphate, machinery and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where 10 vessels were berthed to unload and load general cargo and containers. They are: Eastern Sea, Hai Huang Xing, to unload and load general cargo, Mach Aanderesew Swala, Pu He, Kota Permai, Jade-C and Wester Moor to unload and load containers, Swat, Opal, and Andino Park, tankers, with crude oil and chemicals.Sailing was also active as a dozen ships departed after loading cargoes, which also included Oel Aishwaraya, Jade-C, Maersk Arkansas, Gillant Wave, Lalazar, Eastern Sea, Taikoon, Mesaieed, Mrc Sedef, Antoine, Agios Mectarios-1 and Mac Aandresew Swala.

Half a dozen ships, Swat, Kota Permaim Pu He, Westermoor, Pearl and Opal are due to sail out on Tuesday after loading various consignments.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was brisk where a total tonnage of 0.185 million tons, comprising 20,413 tons of export cargo and 0.164 million tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday; Johar, and Shalamar, with crude oil, APL Osaka, Hyundai Stride, Global Prosperity and Bunga Terasek, with containers, Thor Sofia, with machinery and Makran, with rock phosphate.
