LAHORE, Oct 28: A four-member delegation of the Pakistan Railways will leave for India on Oct 30 (tomorrow) to explore possibilities for starting freight service through Khokhrapar-Monabao section.

Sources said on Saturday the delegation would discuss with their Indian counterparts matters like expansion of the existing passenger and freight traffic through Wagha-Atari route, resumption of the Khokhrapar-Monabao link, washed away by floodwaters, besides modalities to start freight service on the section.

Headed by Pakistan Railways additional general manager (freight) Ali Arif, the delegation comprises PR ministry director (operations) Husain Ahmad Abid, chief operating superintendent Maqsood Ahmad Khan and deputy chief mechanical engineer (wagons) Roshan Ali Mangi.

The PR team would hold talks on Oct 31 and Nov 1 with the Indian railway authorities and likely to return to Pakistan the following day, sources said. —Staff Reporter
