HYDERABAD, Feb 14: The villagers of goth Moya, taluka Tando Mohammad Khan, staged a protest demonstration and sit-in outside the press club here on Thursday to protest against the alleged tyranny of a local landlord.

Talking to newsmen, Ayub Rind, Mohammad Khan Rind, Hakim Halepoto and chairman of the zakat committee, deh Chak, taluka Tando Mohammad Khan, Ali Akbar Rind, alleged that landlord Sohbat Rind had demanded that the Zakat fund of ten Mustehqeen out of 20 should be paid to him.

They said that the landlord enjoyed the support of local police and on the refusal of the chairman of the zakat committee to pay the landlord the money, a false case had been registered against Ayub Rind, Haq Nawaz Rind, Mohammad Khan Rind and Ali Akbar Rind.

They said that Haq Nawaz had been arrested while the others had obtained pre-arrest bail. They demanded that protection should be provided to them.
