KARACHI, Oct 18: The city district government has decided to reorganize the fire brigade system in Karachi so that the citizens could be provided immediate help in case of any emergency.

In this connection, the city Nazim Naimatullah Khan, at a briefing here on Thursday, directed the officials concerned to display boards at all the roundabouts with emergency telephone numbers of the fire brigade.

He also directed to connect the fire brigade service with other departments and institutions having the same service, like the police control, the Edhi Ambulance Service and the Civil Defence, through the paging system. The Nazim ordered early repair of the vehicles.

He was told that, except Gadap Town, fire stations had been set up in all the towns of Karachi.—PPI
