KARACHI, Sept 29: A man and his son were shot dead in Khokhrapar, Malir on Friday night. Police said that some armed men opened fire at Shabir Ahmed and his son Adil in a playground in Khokharapar. Zeeshan, another son of Shabir Ahmed, who was away from the spot, informed the police about the incident.

Later, police shifted the bodies to the JPMC for post-mortem. Police could not ascertain the motive behind the killing till filing of this report.

In North Nazimabad, an activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead late on Thursday night.

Police said that Farhan, an activist of MQM Unit-174, was shot at when he tried to get hold of some bandits who were snatching cash and valuables from a woman in Sharea Noor Jehan police limits.

He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds early on Friday morning.

Police said that the body of Aneela, 18, was found from the water tank of her house in Amavilla Building, Bhorapir, in the limits of Risala police station.

ACCIDENT: A speeding dumper hit a motorcycle and rickshaw in front of the Firdous Shopping Centre in Liaquatabad on Friday night.

Following the accident, some enraged people set the heavy vehicle on fire and pelted stones at the passing vehicles suspending the traffic. They intercepted another long vehicle and also set it on fire, police added.

The injured were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Edhi ambulances. However, the identities of the injured could not be ascertained by the police till filing of this report.
