KARACHI: Encroachments at NIPA removed

KARACHI, Sept 29: All encroachments in front of the Alladdin Park and at NIPA Chowrangi were removed on Friday to maintain smooth flow of traffic.

The encroachments were removed in the presence of nazim of Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, Wasay Jalil, during his visit to various parts of the town to review traffic arrangements during Ramazan.

Naib Nazim Shoaib Akhtar, acting TMO Shafiqur Rehman, DTO land and other staff was present. In all 35 encroachments were removed which included wheel barrows, patharas, chicken cages, cobblers, vegetable and fruit sellers etc.

Encroachments were also removed from Gulshan Block-6 around Gulshan Police Station and police were directed not to allow them to re-establish these encroachments.

The town nazim said that the campaign would continue throughout the month and it would be better for encroachers to remove encroachments voluntarily.

SADDAR TOWN: The carpeting and patch work of roads in Saddar Town is continuing on an emergency basis to ensure better traffic flow during Ramazan. In this regard carpeting and patch work has been completed on roads from Shahrah-i-Iraq to Paper Market New Challi, Clifton Bridge, Abdullah Haroon Road to Metropole Hotel and on Preedy Street and Dr Ziauddin Road.

The town staff has constructed central median at Nishtar Road while work is continuing on Shahrah-i-Liaquat, Mohammed Bin Qasim Road, Dr Daudpota Road and Mir Karam Ali Road.

Saddar Town Nazim Mohammed Dilawar along with TMO and chairman of works committee visited various areas and inspected the ongoing works.—APP
