PESHAWAR, Sept 22: The Sarhad Tourism Corporation has decided to lease out the Doonga Gali Plot, Kund Park and Bahrain Rest House and Park to private firms for 30 years.
In a meeting presided over by NWFP Tourism and Culture Minister Hussain Ahmed Kanju on Friday, the corporation’s board of directors recommended the leasing out of Doonga Gali Plot to Chib Enterprises at Rs60.15 million, Kund Park to Frontier Ceramics at Rs40.2 million and Bahrain Rest House and Park to Sun Belt Enterprises for Rs4.32 million.
The board directed the firms to submit 20 per cent guarantee money and bank certificates. The firms were directed not to hand over the STC property to anyone nor mortgaged it for loans.
It recommended construction of a ‘tourism complex’ in place of four rest houses in Nathiagali. The complex comprising 100 rooms, 10 suites and a restaurant will cost Rs50 million with 50 per cent partnership of the private sector. The STC has reserved money of Rs20.28 million with the provincial government, which can be used for the construction of the complex.—PPI
