No space for negative politics: Yousuf

Published September 21, 2006

QUETTA, Sept 20: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf has strongly criticized component parties of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD) and said that it has included those parties and elements in its ranks who were openly talking about breaking the country and chanting anti-Pakistan slogans.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday night, he expressed great concern that anti-Pakistan slogans were chanted in the public meeting in the presence of those political parties and alliances which claimed to be supporters of the federation.

“National parties should not support the so-called nationalist and element parties in their ranks just for increasing attendance in the public meetings and political interests,” Jam Yousuf told the component parties of the ARD and other national parties.

Referring to tendering of resignation threats by the ARD and other opposition parties, the chief minister said that there was no space for such politics in the country as with the efforts of the government the country was moving towards political and economic stability.

He said that the present assemblies would complete their term and defeated elements would not succeed in their designs.

He said that the general elections would be held on time.

Mr Yousuf also criticised ARD leaders who were criticising the government with the reference of development and said that they also remained in the government but did nothing for developing Balochistan.
