KARACHI, Sept 20: Dr Abdul Hayee Baloch, chief of National Party, has said here that the killing of Nawab Mohammad Akbar Khan Bugti was targeted and circumstantial evidences contradicted the government’s claim that it was an accidental.

Had it been so, the government would have handed the body to his heirs. So far statements issued by the government were all self-contradictory, he said.

“We are still collecting information what really happened,” he went on to say and expressed the confidence that the killers who had committed this heinous crime would be soon exposed.

“Whatever the hidden motives behind the murder were but it had further strengthened the Baloch national movement.”.

The NP leader said the sacrifices of Nawab Bugti would always be remembered.

He said the murder of Nawab Bugti had raised many questions in the minds of Baloch people who now no longer believe in the present setup as it had failed to protect their rights.

The Baloch leader suggested a new constituent assembly to frame a new constitutional order, ensuring sovereign status of all nationalities comprising Pakistan as the present arrangement could not safeguard their interests. He was of the view that a new social contract based on the free will of the nations could make Pakistan a strong country.
