Narrow win for Mobiles

LAHORE, Feb 12: Samsung Mobiles beat Olympia Nee Punhal 6 — 5 1/2 in the Power International Basant Polo Cup tournament at the Lahore Polo Club Tuesday.

In another match of the day, Samsung Blues defeated Master Paints 9-5.

Garros gave Mobiles a flying start by scoring two goals in the first chukker, converting a 40 yard penalty hit and later crowned a solo field effort. Dr I A Khan Simba made it 3-0 by scoring the lone goal of the second chukker.

In the third chukker, Punhal who had 1 1/2 goal handicap, retaliated but could score only one goal through Raja Sattar before Garros scored his hat trick. He scored two field goals in the third chukker and netted the third at the start of the fourth chukker to complete his hat trick.

Punhal attempted a comeback through Shamyl Alam who scored two goals and Haseeb Mehta who added one, but only to lose the match 5—1/2 to 6.

Four goals by Asif Yar Tiwana and three by his brother Atif helped Blues to outclass Paints. Samiullah and Faaiz Rahim added one goal each. Half goal was the handicap of the winning side.

For the losers, Shah Qubali Alam scored two goals while Kamran Noor-ud-Din, Soofi Haris and Diego Araya added one goal each.
