Aamir, Mansoor move ahead

ISLAMABAD, Sept 13: Aamir Atlas and Mansoor Zaman outplayed their respective rivals in the qualifying rounds of the British Open Squash Championship at Nottingham, according to details available on Wednesday.

Aamir Atlas beat Wael El-Hindi of Egypt after a gruelling 77-minute qualifying round match spread over full five games. Aamir won 7-11, 8-11, 11-10 (3-1), 11-10 (2-0), 11-7.

Mansoor Zaman notched up a 11-2, 11-4, 11-4 victory over Joy Lee of England but his brother Shahid Zaman went down to Englishman Lee Drew 11-2, 8-11, 11-10 (3-0), 11-9.—APP
