FAISALABAD, Feb 12: Gold ornaments, cash and other valuables worth Rs6 million were looted from the house of an exporter in Karim Town on Monday night.

Three gunmen forced their entry into the house of Sheikh Azhar Majeed, the owner of Arzoo Textile Mills and former chairman of All-Pakistan Cloth Exporters Association. They locked the family members in a room after snatching keys of cupboards and escaped with the booty.

The DIG, the SSP and other senior police officers rushed to Mr Sheikh’s house on receiving the news.

In another incident, 30 tolas of gold and Rs300,000 in cash were taken away from the house of one Akbar Ali in Chak 540-GB on Monday night.
