QUETTA, Sept 7: Alliance for Restoration of Democracy senior vice-president Nawabzada Mansoor Ali Khan has said the ARD will hold a meeting in Quetta before the APC public gathering on Sept 17 to take a final decision on resigning from assemblies.

Speaking at a press conference at the press club here on Thursday, he said he and Munir Hussain Gailani and Syed Naubahar Shah had come here to condole the death of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti with his family and express solidarity with Balochistan on behalf of the people of Punjab .

He held the army establishment responsible for the killing of Nawab Bugti and political instability in the country.

He said the ARD and other democratic parties had no option but to resign from what he called the rubber stamp assemblies and launch a decisive movement against the dictatorship.

Mr Khan said Bugti’s struggle was for maximum provincial autonomy so that Balochistan could control its resources.

He said the people of Punjab had observed a strike on Sept 1 on the call of the ARD to condemn the killing of Nawab Bugti.
