KARACHI, Sept 7: The Association of Southeast Asia Nations (Asean) is making special efforts to dominate the world textile, fabric and garment market by inviting the European and other importers in the region to trade fairs.

Such events present equal opportunities to other countries in the adjacent regions to participate and exhibit their products and bag some of the orders directly from the importers or indirectly through the major exporters, who may find it attractive to outsource part of their consignment.

Asean Federation of Textile Industries (Aftex) and Messe Frankfurt have organised a show titled, “ Source it 2006” which would be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 4 to 6.

The objective behind this activity is stated to be the promotion of Asean as a key sourcing region for textile and garment buyers.—APP
