QUETTA, Sept 5: The Alliance for Restoration of Democracy, the Pakistan Oppressed Nations Movement and the Awami National Party have called for a strike in Balochistan on September 6 and 12.

In a joint statement issued here on Tuesday, they appealed to businessmen, transporters and the general public to remain indoors in protest against the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti, arrest of hundreds of political workers and ‘intensified’ military operation in Kohlu.

The statement said that public meetings would be held and processions taken out on September 8, 10 and 14 in Loralai, Dera Murad Jamali and Khuzdar, respectively, to mobilise people against ‘government excesses’.
