QUETTA, Sept 2: Senator Asfandyar Wali Khan President of Awami National Party has urged the democratic parties in general and nationalist forces in particular to wage a collective struggle against the dictatorial regime.

The ANP leader went straight to the Bugti House after arriving from Islamabad to condole the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti with Nawabzada Jamil Bugti and other family members. He was accompanied by Ghulam Mohammad Bilour, Zahid Khan and the party’s local leaders.

Speaking at the press club here on Saturday, he said that Nawab Bugti’s killing was a message by the military rulers to nationalist leaders of the Pakhtuns, Balochs and Sindhis to bow down or face the fate of the Baloch leader.

“We, the followers of Bacha Khan, would never surrender before autocratic rulers. We will continue the struggle till the achievement of right of ownership of resources and maximum autonomy to the provinces,” he said.

Condemning the way in which the Baloch leader was buried, he said: “It was insulting and no one believes (the coffin contains) the body of Nawab Bugti.”

He said that when the rulers stopped to practice constitutional politics then every political leader chose his own way and the JWP chief had been forced to fight for rights in the mountains.

He said that Nawab Bugti had cooperated with the parliamentary committee for the resolution of the Balochistan issue and had even suggested proposals to resolve the situation but the military rulers had dumped those recommendations.—Correspondent
