KARACHI, Sept 2: As many as 65 people were deprived of their cars, motorbikes or mobile phones in various localities here on Saturday.

Police said 20 vehicles, 10 cars and an equal number of motorbikes, were either hijacked or stolen in different areas. Two cars were snatched at gunpoint and eight others were stolen. Similarly, two motorcycles were snatched at gunpoint and eight others were stolen.

There were 18 complaints of snatching of cash , mobile phones and other belongings at gunpoint. Twenty-seven people reported that their cellphones were stolen.

BODY FOUND: The bullet-riddled and trussed up body of a man was found in Sohrab Goth police limits at a derelict place on Saturday.

Police believed that the man might have been kidnapped, subjected to torture and shot dead.

Later, his body was dumped in isolated area. The body was shifted to a hospital and later it was kept at Edhi’s morgue for identification.

SUICIDE: A man and a woman ended their lives at their respective homes in various localities here on Saturday.

An elderly man hanged himself to death at his residence in Taimuria police limits after he failed to pay off his debts. Police said Noor Hussain, 70, had two wives and was facing financial problems.

Raheela Bibi, 45, a mother of three and a resident of Data Nagar, Orangi, hanged herself inside her house.

Her son Nabeel found his mother hanging when he reached his house.
