KARACHI, Aug 20: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has directed to fill the potholes emerged on the roads after the recent rains within 48 hours to bring relief to citizens.
He sought cooperation of the cantonment boards and DHA in connection with the improvement of the infrastructure damaged by the torrential rains.
The city government has provided machinery to the 18 towns for carrying out cleaning of roads and streets.
Work has also been started to drain out rain water standing on roads and streets of cantonment areas.
The nazim also directed the KBCA to clear the encroachments from 63 main nullahs of the city. Acting on the directive, the Karachi Building Control Authority has started the demolition of a shopping mall being built on a drain at Abul Hasan Ispahani Road.
In the first phase, pillars erected on the third floor of the mall had been brought down.
KWSB DUES: Restriction has been imposed on sale or purchase of any property in the city without obtaining a ‘No Dues Certificate’ from the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.
The decision to this effect was made here in a meeting chaired by City Nazim, Syed Mustafa Kamal and attended by the Town Nazims and officers of City Government and KWSB.
The nazim said like other utilities, a no dues certificate from Water Board has also been made mandatory before the sale or purchase of property. He directed the officials to take steps for strict implementation of the decision.—APP
