PESHAWAR, Feb 11: The anti-smuggling squads of the customs collectorate seized smuggled goods and nonduty-paid vehicles of the customs and freight value of over Rs2.5 million during the last eight days.

The customs personnel confiscated a big quantity of smuggled cloth, and nonduty-paid vehicles i.e. a coaster and a Hiace, said a handout on Monday.

The value of confiscated goods and vehicles has been estimated at over Rs2.51m.

Eleven cases were registered under the Customs Act, 1969. Seizures were made at Peshawar, Nowshera, Kund, Kohat, Bannu, etc. Some of the vehicles, in which these items were being transported to downcountry, were also impounded.
