HYDERABAD, Feb 11: The scuffle between some students and taxi drivers created panic in Gari Khata on Monday evening.

The students, living in the Qaimkhani Hostel, exchanged hot words with the taxi drivers that led to a bout between them. A political activist Fayaz Awan, intervened in the matter and went inside the hostel to hold talks and pacify the students.

The people thought that Awan had been kidnapped. The witnesses said that some people burnt tyres and stoned the hostel gate. The shops were closed. The road was completely blocked because of traffic jam following the incident.
