LAHORE, Aug 13: A light rain and overcast conditions on most part of the day in Lahore on Sunday made weather pleasant which was extremely hot and humid on Saturday night.
Accompanied with strong wind, the rain provided the much-needed relief to the people who had earlier experienced a muggy night, many without power for hours.
The Met office recorded 9mm of rain at its Jail Road office and 3mm at the airport. The maximum temperature was 37.3 degree Celsius and the minimum 28.8 degree Celsius with 58 per cent humidity in the morning and 81 per cent in the evening.
The Met office forecast more rain in the city during the next 24 hours.
It reported that the rain was caused by the monsoon current. There were also chances of rain in the northern Punjab during the next 24 hours.
The Met office reported that the already existing monsoon low over Southern Rajasthan had entered Sindh where it would cause more rain. Another monsoon low was over central India but it was far away to leave any impact on Pakistan.
The flood forecasting division said the river Indus was in high flood at Guddu and the water was rising. It was in medium flood at Sukkur and was rising there as well.
The FFD forecast isolated rain over Kashmir, Punjab and the NWFP during the next 24 hours.
