RAWALPINDI, Aug 12: The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled two attempts to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics from Peshawar to Punjab and China and recovered 106kg charas and 11 heroin-filled capsules and arrested two smugglers including a South African woman.

In a press release issued here on Saturday, the ANF said on a tip-off, a raiding party intercepted a car (AFS-506) near Islamabad motorway interchange. The car was signalled to stop but the driver sped away.

One of the motorway police patrolling parties stopped the car near Chakri interchange. Due to distance between the motorway police patrolling party and the car, the driver and his accomplice managed to escape.

The staff of police station-I, ANF Rawalpindi, reached on the spot and recovered 106kg charas from the cavities of the vehicle.

In another operation, the staff of ANF Sust checkpost intercepted a woman identified as Lyndill, a South African, on suspicion of carrying heroin-filled capsules to China and was admitted to the district headquarters hospital, Gilgit.

“Eleven heroin-filled capsules were recovered from the accused. Whereas her co-accused, Mahreen, a resident of Kabul, presently living in Flat No 14, Ali Plaza, G-9/4, was arrested on the spot.—Our Reporter
