KARACHI, Aug 7: A cloth merchant was shot dead by bandits during motorcycles snatching in Liaquatabad on Monday morning.

Police said that Jamaluddin, 40, had come to Liaquatabad No. 10 to buy milk. As he was about to return, unknown armed men intercepted him demanding his motorcycle. Police said that as Jamal tried to resist, the suspects opened fire and fled taking away the motorcycle. The victim’s body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination. Police said the victim was a cloth trader doing business in the old city area.

YOUNG MAN: A young man was killed by unknown persons in Lyari on Monday.

Police said the victim was identified as Shakir Baloch, his body was sent to the Civil Hospital from where his body was taken away by his family without legal formalities.

Police were investigating the case, but didn’t have the details about the victim.

SUICIDE: A young man committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in North Nazimabad on Monday.

Police said Khalid, 35, shot himself in the head in Bhayani Centre, Block H.

According to the police the victim was suffering from mental illness. He had two children.

ARRESTED: Police on Monday claimed to have busted a gang of four motorcycle snatchers in the Aziz Bhatti police limits. Police seized 10 motorcycles following their disclosures which were snatched or stolen in the police limits of Azizabad, Gulberg, Joharabad and Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

Police said their ring leader identified as Atiq was absconding.
