NAIROBI, Aug 2: Kenyan tea prices were generally stronger at this week's auction, due to a fall in the volumes on offer, traders said on Wednesday.
The Mombassa-based Africa Tea Brokers (ATB) said there were only 82,845 packages of tea offered at the Tuesday auction compared with 92,087 packages offered last week.
Traders said 10,655 packages were unsold at the auction.
The price of Best BP1s rose on the top side to between $2.20 and $2.60 per kg compared with $2.20 and $2.48 at last week's auction. Best PF1s were sold at between $2.40 and $2.80 from $2.41-$2.52 per kg.—Reuters
