ISLAMABAD, July 29: Pakistan International Airlines would pay Rs2 million each to heirs of the victims of the Multan Fokker crash, an official of the airline said on Saturday.
The national carrier’s turboprop Fokker F-27 en route to Islamabad via Lahore had crashed after take off on July 10, killing all 45 people on board.
The compensation is being provided under limitations of liability of the carrier under conditions of carriage of passengers and baggage.
Compensation amounting to Rs500,000 had already been given by the airline to the heirs of the victims, PIA’s spokesman Capt Nasir Jafferi said.
