KHAIRPUR, July 20: The Kotdiji police on Thursday booked 47 farmers of Shahnawaz Wah and Imdad Minor, including son of Sindh People’s Party president Qaim Ali Shah, for water theft.

The Kotdiji irrigation SDO lodged an FIR against Qaim’s son Syed Muzaffar Shah, former Thari Mirwah taluka nazim Ali Gul Bozdar of Awam Dost Panel, and other farmers, including Atta Mohammad, Aziz Brohi, Nabi Bux, Yar Mohammad, Mohammad Bachal, Owais Chandio and Shah Dino.

Khairpur taluka PPP president Syed Amjad Shah, comrade Bashir Mallah and People’s Lawyers Forum president Liaquat Shar have condemned the case and termed it political victimization.

VISIT: Superintendent Engineer (SE) of Hesco’s Sukkur division, Shamsuddin Shaikh, Executive Engineer Khairpur division Nazeer Ahmed Kalhoro and Luqman sub-division SDO Parvez Ahmed Phulpoto paid a surprise visit to the Luqman sub-division and parts of the Khairpur city on Thursday.

On public complaints, the SE suspended a meter reader of the sub-division, Sardar Shah.
