KARACHI, July 13: Four ships to load/offload containers, general cargo, edible oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, five more ships carrying containers, chemicals, edible oil and iron ore also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 78 per cent as seven ships, Nedlloyd Muscat, Asian Gyro, Khairpur, Mar Blue, Scan Bothnia, Lady Jasmine and Ginga Jaguar, were occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, general cargo, chemicals and edible oil.A cargo volume of 37,055 tons comprising 23,849 tons of import and 13,206 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Nedlloyd Muscat, Asian Gyro and Ginga Jaguar left the port.

Four container ships, Wester Moor, Samia, Rosa-M and Saudi Hofuf, were due to arrive on Friday.
