Weightlifting squad named

LAHORE, July 12: Pakistan has announced an eight-member weightlifting team for the 10th South Asian Games to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from Aug 18 to 28.

The team was selected after considering the results of the national ranking championship and recent performance of the lifters in Iran.

The Pakistan weightlifting squad is still in Iran on a training tour.

Two stand-byes are also announced.

Team:

Usman Akbar (56kgs), Muhammad Ishtiaq Ghafoor (62kgs), Mati-ur-Rehman (69kgs), Muhammad Irfan (77kgs), Shujauddin Malik (85 kgs), Hassan Aslam (94 kgs), Sajjad Amin Malik (105kgs), Rizwanullah Khan Lodhi (Over 105kgs).

Reserves: Alam Din, Awais Akbar.

Coaches: Malik Naveed Aslam, Azmat Ullah Chaudhary.
