Three suspects killed in ‘encounters’

TOBA TEK SINGH: Three suspects were killed in two alleged encounters in Faisalabad.

Two suspects were in custody of Jaranwala City police. The suspects, identified as Junaid and Mazhar, were being taken to Chak 237-GB when their six accomplices attacked the police van and freed them near Chak 239 GB. On receiving information, SHO Muzaffar Ali reached with more police force and firing was exchanged between both parties near Tower Chowk on Nankana Sahib Road.

When the firing stopped, police found Junaid and Mazhar in an injured condition and that they were hit by bullets when their accomplices had fled. They were shifted to Jaranwala THQ Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Police spokesperson claimed that both the suspects were involved in more than three dozen cases of robberies.

Meanwhile, Iqbal Town CCD team carried out a raid to arrest a proclaimed offender in Chak 224-RB, Fateh Deenwali, but instead of surrendering, the criminals opened fire on policemen who retaliated with firing in self-defence.

When the firing stopped, police saw a man identified as Muhammad Nabil laid dead. They claimed that he was hit by bullets fired by his own accomplices. He was wanted by police in several robbery cases.
