ISLAMABAD, Feb 9: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended on February 7, has registered an increase of 0.77 per cent over the corresponding week.

And in comparison to the corresponding week ended on February 8, last year, SPI registered a growth of 3.79 per cent.

According to the Federal Bureau of Statistics figures, released here on Saturday, the data regarding price movement consisting of 51 essential kitchen items, including four items of utilities.

During the week under review, the average prices of 9 items decreased, prices of 15 items registered increase, while average prices of 27 items remained unchanged.

The items, prices of which decrease during the week under review included, voil, eggs, mustard oil, moong pulse, vegetable ghee, electric bulb (60 watt), cooking oil (Habib), red chilies (powdered) and vegetable ghee (loose).

The average prices of items, which registered increase — tomatoes, onions, sugar, potatoes, bananas, rice-basmati (broken), gur, rice Irri-6, garlic, wheat flour, wheat, mash pulse, gram pulse, mutton and chicken farm.
