KARACHI, July 1: Port Qasim witnessed brisk shipping activity where four ships to load/unload containers, wheat and sugar were given berths at the QICT and MPT terminals, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.Meanwhile two more container ships arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained at 67 per cent at the port where seven ships occupied berths to load/unload containers, furnace oil, sugar, canola seeds and wheat, respectively.

The port handled a cargo volume of 52,388 tons comprising 42,409 tons of imports and 9,979 tons of exports, including 952 containers during the same period.

Departures were fairly brisk at the port where three containers ships and a bulk carrier sailed to the sea during the report period.
