KARACHI, June 30: Port Qasim witnessed brisk shipping activity where three ships carrying containers and furnace oil were given berths at QICT, and Fotco oil terminal, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and sugar arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained at 67 per cent at the port where a total of seven ships occupied berths to load/unload containers, furnace oil, chemicals, sugar and canola seeds, respectively, during the same period.

Cargo handling at the port showed an upward trend where a cargo volume of 86,567 tons, comprising 54,522 tons imports and 32,045 tons exports, including 3,085 containers were handled.

Departures were fairly brisk where four ships including three container vessels sailed during the period under review.
