SUKKUR, June 28: Four Ranger’s personnel drown in the Pat Feeder Canal near Kashmore when their boat capsized on Tuesday night. Sources said six personnel of the 40 Wing Shahbaz Ranger’s had been going to investigate a blast of an 18-inch gas pipeline in Goh Pat on the Sindh-Balochistan border when the boat met an accident.

The four drowned were identified as Deputy Superintendent Nadeem Sikandar, Inspector Naseem Zaidi, and constables Waheed and Ghulam Shabbir drown.

Only two, Major Zubairi and Hawaldar Yousuf, could survive the accident.

The six personnel had been deployed at Basket check post.

Informed sources said the Pat Feeder Canal had been closed near Kashmore to recover the bodies.

However, the Guddu barrage sources said the canal had not been closed, divers of the Ranger were trying to fish out the bodies.

When contacted, at the Shahbaz Rangers Kashmore, officials said private and Ranger divers were trying to find the bodies.
