KARACHI, June 28: The Executive District Officer (Schools), Allahditta Memon, has said that inter-regional transfers of teachers have been banned in Karachi.

He stated this while talking to a delegation of Heads and Teachers Alliance Association, headed by Zafar Masood, who met him on Wednesday.

Mr Memon pointed out that the seniority list of Karachi teachers of all the cadres would be finalised in three months to present it to the promotion board, says a press release issued by the Sindh Professors and Subject Specialists Association, Karachi Region.

He said that senior teachers would be appointed on all those posts lying vacant across the city.

The delegation apprised the EDO of the problems being faced by the teaching community.

“All surplus teachers would be immediately transferred to other educational departments, where educational activities were affected due to insufficient number of the teachers”, he said.—PPI
