LAHORE, Feb 8: Remounts Orange thrashed Samsung Mobiles 9 1/2—2 and ACE School/Nee Punhal narrowly beat Master Paints 12-11 1/2 in the eight-chukker match Friday to qualify for the final of the Samsung Venture polo tournament at the Lahore Polo Club .

The final of this high-goal competition will be held on Sunday between Remounts Orange and ACE School/Nee Punhal at 3 pm.

Remounts Orange with half-a-goal handicap started the scoring with Manzoor Shah putting in a field goal and Ahmad Khan netting another two to give Remounts Orange a 3 1/2 -0 lead at end of first chukker.

During second chukker, Sufi Muhammad Amir scored a field goal and converted a spot penalty near the goalpost for Remounts Orange. Dr I A Khan Simba scored a field goal for Samsung Mobiles. Gerardo Mazzini scored a field goal for Remounts Orange to give it a 6 1/2-1 lead.

Only goal of third chukker was also scored by Mazzini with a long, lofted hit.

Ramiro Garros scored his only and Samsung Mobiles’ second goal at start of fourth chukker. Amir scored his third and Remounts Orange’s eighth goal on a field effort. Manzoor Shah sealed fate of the match by scoring Remounts’s Orange’s ninth goal.

Master Paints had advantage of one-and-a-half goals  on handicap and had put in five goals during the first four chukkers on Wednesday. Araya had put in four goals and Kamran Nooruddin one goal to take a lead by 6 1/2.

On Wednesday, ACE School/Nee Punhal scored another six goals during the remaining four chukkers to take its tally to twelve.

Samiullah scored four goals, which included a hat-trick. Haseeb Mehta and Shah Shamyl Alam scored one goal, each.

 Diego Araya scored four goals and Kamran Nooruddin struck once for Master Paints.
