ISLAMABAD, June 20: Three people convicted in the case involving attack on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz two years ago have moved the Lahore High Court against what they said inhuman behaviour of the jail authorities towards them.

Qari Ahmad Khan, Molvi Muhammad Siddique and Noor Badshah have pleaded through Dr Babar Awan Advocate that they have also been given life threats by the jail authorities and they might be killed in custody.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, inspector general jails Punjab, deputy inspector general jails Rawalpindi division, superintendent central jail Adiala, inspector general police Punjab and home secretary Punjab have been cited as respondents in the petition.

It has been pleaded by their council that ever since their conviction, the petitioners have been kept in a solitarily confinement away from the sight of even other prisoners. They are forced to put on bar-fetters without gaiters while forcing prisoners to wear bar-fetters, handcuffs or iron-bars is against the jail manual, says the petition.

The petitioners have also alleged that their blood relatives come from far-off places to meet them but are not allowed to meet them. They have prayed the court to direct the respondents to remove their bar fetters, iron-bars, handcuffs and that they be treated in accordance with the jail manual as long as their appeals were pending disposal. They have also sought permission to their relatives to meet them.
