KARACHI, June 12: The nullah project in Union Council UC-8 of the Site Town has been completed before its scheduled time. In a meeting with Town Municipal Officer Imran Aslam, Town Officer (Infrastructure) Akbar Baloch and others, Town Nazim Azharuddin praised officials and staff concerned for completion of the project.

He urged them to complete all development projects at the earliest so that residents could be provided with facilities as soon as possible. He warned that negligence would not be tolerated.

UC-8 Nazim Muhammad Mazhar Khan briefed the meeting on development works and pointed out the problems being faced by the residents of his union council.

SADDAR TOWN: The repair work on 54-inch-dia sewerage line, which had caved in on Saturday, started in Clifton on Monday.

The sewerage disposal system of Old Clifton, Kehkashan, Bath Island, Gulstan-i-Faisal and surrounding areas was seriously hit due to cave-in line.

KWSB Saddar Town Superintendenting Engineer Ghulam Qadir and Executive Engineer Rais Ahmed reached the affected area and started repair work.

It is hoped that repair work would be completed in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the town administration will kick off anti-stray dog campaign from Tuesday.

Saddar Town Nazim Muhammad Dilawar has formed a committee, which will ensure involvement of all the concerned staff in the campaign.

The town administration has advised the people to keep their pet dogs at their homes during the campaign.

ORANGI TOWN: Stern departmental action against a sanitary inspector and sub-inspector was ordered for overall poor sanitary condition in Orangi Town.

Town Nazim Abdul Haq on Monday during his surprise visit of union councils along with TMO Qamar Sheikh and other officials ordered stern departmental action against the concerned sanitary officials and issued warning to DTO Sanitation.

He directed the DTO to lay special emphasis on sanitation of newly constructed roads and streets.—PPI
