KARACHI, June 10: Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil has stressed the need for coordinated efforts to promote academic and creative activities for mental development of children in Karachi.

“The city government will encourage to NGOs for improvement of environment and highlighting their creative abilities in this regard,” she said while speaking as chief guest at a children function at Expo Centre.

Ms Jalil said that in the context of steps taken for the development of children, it was essential to promote positive thinking in them and create recreational opportunities, which would help highlight their creative abilities.

She called for focussing on children to create awareness among them about various laws and said that NGOs could play a better role in this regard for which the city government will cooperate with them.
