SGP in last eight

KARACHI, June 2: Sindh Government Press (SGP) advanced into the quarterfinals of All Pakistan Shaheed Anwer Bhai football tournament after holding Hyderabad with a 1-1 draw on Friday at Peoples Sports Complex.

SGP secured an aggregate of four points from their league matches to enter the last-eight stage of the tournament.

Aurangzaib struck for SGP in the 19th minute while Faheem Ahmed levelled for Hyderabad in the 74th minute of the match.

In another match, Imran Ali’s two goals powered Pakistan Railways to earn maximum points after overcoming fancied Pakistan PWD 4-3 in a thriller.

Mohammad Afzal and Saeed Qureshi were the other scorers for victors while Mohammad Ibrahim, Shehzad Ali and Imtiaz Ali scored goals for losers.—PPI
