Published February 8, 2002

LAHORE, Feb 7: Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) is negotiating with a few sponsors for long term deal after the expiry of contract with the previous sponsors.

PVF Chief, Chaudhary Muhammad Yaqub said Thursday efforts were underway to find a suitable sponsor who could shoulder the financial burden to meet the needs of the body.

The previous sponsors, a leading business house dealing in tobacco products, had a long association with PVF and their cooperation widely contributed in taking the game to new heights besides evolving activity plan at grass root level.

He told APP that PVF has greater responsibilities including supervising of a number of talent hunt programmes, participation of national senior and junior teams in international meets home and aborad and paying to foreign coaches and organisation of coaches clinics and holding of national and provincial level tournaments.—APP
