Discards hit half centuries

KARACHI, Feb 7: Rawalpindi, aided by half centuries from Test discards Mohammad Wasim and Naveed Qureshi, were dismissed for 235 in their first innings in the Quaid Trophy Grade-I match against Sheikhupura at Sheikhupura Stadium Thursday.

Wasim top-scored with 77 and Naveed, leading Rawalpindi in this game, contributed 56 after the visitors won the toss and chose to bat first.

Jaffar Nazir continued his good form with the ball. The fast bowler captured five for 78.

Sheikhupura lost Test opener Imran Nazir for 15 in reaching 26 for one at stumps.
