Italy concerned over tension

ISLAMABAD, Feb 7: Italian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Mrs Margreta Boniver on Thursday called on her Pakistani counterpart Abdul Sattar and expressed her country’s concern at the tensions between Pakistan and India.

During the meeting, the two discussed current tension between Pakistan and India, situation in Afghanistan and bilateral relations.

Mrs Boniver told Sattar that Italy was willing to play a constructive role to ease the situation.

The Italian Minister is here on a two-day visit to Pakistan.

On Afghanistan, the two sides agreed on the need for promoting stability.

The Foreign Minister hosted a lunch in honour of the Italian Deputy Minister.—APP
