IN the heart of Multan lies Chungi No. 9, a historic hub that has long connected the city’s diverse swathes. This vital intersection in the historic city has been a linchpin, linking five major roads. Despite its importance, however, Chungi No. 9 has been left to crumble, with its repair work dragging on for months. This lack of professionalism has left the city traffic in a state of gridlock.

The district administration’s apathy towards this critical infrastructure is staggering, and it is clear that the officialdom has chosen to turn a blind eye to the plight of millions of Multan commuters.

No alternative route has been provided, by the administration, leaving the people to navigate by using Google Maps on the broken roads. There is increased traffic congestion, with a significant rise in accidents making it worse for the locals.

It is high time the authorities took the bull by the horns, and addressed the issue. The lack of action from the autho-rities has put countless lives at risk. The people of Multan deserve better than to be left high and dry. The administration must restore this vital artery to its glory.
